Hunts are conducted by special use permit in the Uncompahgre National Forest on BLM and private ground depending on the game hunted and seasonal migration patterns. This country is rough, which means the better shape you are in the more you will enjoy the hunt, but the effort is rewarded by bigger game, lighter hunting pressure and some very special scenery.
