On all of their "fully guided" hunts you will be provided lodging, meals, guide and all transportation in the field. The outfitter will pack out and transport all game to the
packing house and heads to the taxidermist.
Their "semi-guided" hunts are done with one guide for each group or property to point
out boundaries, give advice about how to hunt their property and help pack out game if
needed. Lodging, food and cooking are sometimes available by special arrangement.
Another popular option they offer is land lease hunts. Hunters are shown the ranch
boundaries and given advice on game movements and how to best hunt each ranch.
The hunters are then responsible for their a unique opportunity to combine their elk
hunt with a mule deer hunt and/or a black bear hunt depending on the season.

Colorado Outfitter #2
Colorado Elk Hunts
A quick look at the Boone & Crockett and the Pope & Young record books will show you that southwest Colorado is
record big-game country. Combine this trophy potential with this Outfitter's Lifetime of hunting and trapping experience,
add in a climate that affords access to the prime hunting areas when many other areas that are within 100 miles are just plain miserable during those fall snowstorms that seem to hit right during the season and you have the perfect recipe for "Colorado Big GameTrophy Hunting".
Because they can cover a wider range, four wheel-drive vehicles are used to transport hunters to the game areas where footwork takes over. Hunts are conducted by special use permit in the Uncompahgre National Forest on BLM and private property, depending on the game hunted and seasonal migration patterns. This country is rough, which means the better shape you are in the more you will enjoy the hunt but the effort is rewarded by bigger game, lighter hunting pressure and some very special scenery.
This outfitter hunts only unit 6l, for rifle elk. This is one of the best units in Colorado
for elk. Their success rate is very high, with almost everyone harvesting a bull.
On this hunt, you may also hunt bear by purchasing a bear tag. There is no outfitter charge unless you harvest a bear. They will have you where you need to be at daylight and will hunt hard for you to make your hunt successful and enjoyable.
All muzzleloading licenses, for both deer and elk, are obtained though the state drawing. The deadline for entering
the drawing is early April. Their hunting season runs in mid-September. The bulls are bulging then and the bucks are
not as cautious as later in the regular season. Their muzzleloader hunts are their favorites and are usually the most successful for their clients.
Unit 61 is one of the top units in the state. They recommend applying for Unit 61 to build preference points. To hunt
this unit it takes several preference points. They will cover as much ground as possible, bulging regularly, hoping to
get a bull to answer. When an elk is located they attempt to call it closer; if this doesn't work they carefully stalk him.
The season runs from late August to late September. Camps are usually no more than 4 hunters and usually just
your group.
Unit 61 ~ 5 Day ~ $5,000
