New Mexico Outfitter #1
This outfitter offers New Mexico mule deer hunts on property adjoining to
5 miles of the famed Jicarilla Apache Reservation in game management unit # 5a renowned for it's fantastic hunting located 8 miles west of Lindrith, New Mexico.
This outfitter also retains quality hunting rights for mule deer on 5 other parcels of private property in game unit # 32, in the Pecos River regionnear Ft. Sumner, New Mexico totaling over 100,000 acres. It is not too uncommon for some 30" + bucks
to be harvested on these properties every year due to the fact that these properties parallel the Pecos river and border a good deal of prime farm land.

Traditionally hunters are able to look over several bucks prior to having to decide on which animal they care to harvest.
This hunt also hosts a 100% opportunity rate, and usually a kill rate to match. The quality of their deer hunts on these properties are in our opinion unmatchable, add their hospitality and the quality accommodations that they provide and
this hunt is as good as it gets for mule deer.

All of these hunts are licensed through the "private land owner tag system" so that there is no draw process to wait
out. Simple enough, you sign up with this outfitter for a hunt this fall and you will be going hunting this fall. They will "guarantee" a reasonable shooting opportunity to every one of their Clients for whatever type of game they are in
pursuit of. If a Client does not have that opportunity, said Client will be refunded 1/3 of their hunt fee itself, how many outfitters do you come upon willing to back up that kind of commitment?

Unit #32
Hunting style for mule deer along the Pecos River changes as the hunt progresses. The initial style is usually spot and stalk. This moves deer
into the denser cover, then drive and stand type hunting comes into play. There might also be deer activity along the river edges and in the thicker
mesquite country which can turn into some pretty good workouts.
The average elevation for the Mule Deer in unit # 32 is between 4000 to
4500 feet above sea level. The country that you will be hunting is used for both livestock and agricultural; primarily for the growing of alfalfa. The river bottom is covered with Russian Olive, Salt Cedar, and old Cottonwoods planted during the days when Ft. Sumner was an active army outpost.

Lodging, Meals and Guiding
All of their Clients on unit #32 hunts will be housed in the spacious, clean and modern Super 8 Motel in Ft. Sumner,
New Mexico, the county seat. The "Billy The Kid" museum is only 1/2 block away from the motel.

Unit 5 A
Hunts in Unit 5a can be a little out of the norm. For the most part
they use a traditional Spot & Stalk method while scanning open
parks and sage brush flats on the property. After a morning hunt
they take up stands near waterholes frequently used by the deer.
The reason for this tactic is that the country in unit 5a has some
very thick forest understory such as Bigelow Sage, Rabbit Brush
and Chamise, not to mention some very dense stands of Juniper
and Pinion Pine trees. To push this type of heavy growth usually
just means pushing the game out of the country.

Terrain and Elevation
About 50% of this terrain is covered with dense growths of Cedar and Pinion Pine, with a thick understory growth
beneath that. Elevations on this property run from 7000 to 8000 feet. The hunts are located 7 miles west of Lindrith,
New Mexico.
Lodging, Meals and Guiding
All of their Clients for these hunts will be lodged on site in a combination of one old, refurbished wood cabin and some
RV's. These are furnished by the outfitter. The cabin is what you would call rustic. All meals will be prepared on-site
and are fit for a king.

The success rate for the Mule Deer Hunts for this unit are 100%
with opportunity rates per hunter generally averaging 300-400%.
