New Mexico Outfitter #1.....

This New Mexico turkey hunt takes place southeast of Raton, New Mexico. This hunt for Merriam turkey occur on all private land in Quay

and San Miguel counties, New Mexico. The habitat of this ranch is

creek bottoms and Pinon / Juniper terrain. This ranch holds a large population of turkey and the population is still growing. The hunt price includes meals, appropriate number of guides, transportation during

the hunt, and cleaning of the birds. The hunter is responsible for his license, motel accommodations, personal gear, weapons and their transportation to and from the camp.

This is mountainous terrain, with elevations running from 7,500 feet to 9,500 feet. The ranch holds a large, population

of turkey and the population has always been stable and is growing. This is not a guaranteed hunt but this hunt has

been running right at 100% success on two birds, weather eprmitting of course..

The cost of the hunt includes accommodations at the lodge on the ranch, meals, appropriate number of guides, trans-portation during the hunt, and cleaning of the birds. Hunters will be responsible for their license, personal gear, weapon

and their transportation to and from the camp.

Hunt Dates	Any consecutive 3 days during April 15th thru May 10th.

New Mexico Outfitter #2.....

This husband and wife team have operated a small outfitting business located in Apache Creek, New Mexico since 1992 but has been outfitting for 13 years. This outfitter has hunted these hills his whole life. Apache Creek is located in southwestern portion of the state. They hunt in the Gila and Apache National Forest, Game management units 15, 16 & 23. They both guide and take part in all their hunts to insure the quality of the hunt.

They do physically disabled (handicap) hunts and love it when families shows up to hunt together. Ladies if you want to hunt but are uncomfortable with a man as a guide, they have a female guide for you if you wish. All of their hunts include home cooked meals, hot showers and lodging. They welcome non-hunters.

This outfitter has over 18 years of experience of guiding hunts in New Mexico. He offersTurkey hunts in Carlsbad, New Mexico on large acre tracts of private land as well as National Forest. In this area you will be hunting Merriam birds. Length of the hunt is three days. Meals, lodging, and guides are provided with the hunt price. They will average around 6 hunters in camp. They serve western style meals for breakfast and supper and usually sack

lunches are prepared for the field.

The weather you can expect during your turkey hunt is usually below freezing, but the temperature will climb rapidly to shirt sleeve weather. Licenses can be bought over the counter.
